Return to the Forbidden Planet

Recently Updated

"Return to the Forbidden Planet" is a jukebox musical inspired by Shakespeare's "The Tempest" and the 1956 sci-fi movie "Forbidden Planet." Set in the future, the show tells the story of the crew of the starship Albatross, led by Captain Tempest, who are on a mission to deliver a scientist and her daughter to a distant planet. However, they encounter a space storm that sends them off course and onto the uncharted planet D'Illyria. There, they find a mad scientist, Dr. Prospero, and his daughter Miranda, who have been stranded on the planet for years with a robot named Ariel and a monster named Caliban.

As the crew explores the planet, they encounter a variety of alien life forms and perform classic rock and roll songs from the 1950s and 1960s, including "Great Balls of Fire," "Good Vibrations," and "The Monster Mash." Meanwhile, Captain Tempest and Miranda fall in love, causing jealousy from the robot Ariel, who is also in love with Miranda. As the crew tries to find a way off the planet and back to Earth, they must also contend with the sinister plans of Dr. Prospero, who seeks revenge on those who wronged him in the past. The show features a mix of comedy, romance, and rock and roll, with colorful costumes and high-energy dance numbers.
